We finalize our brainstorming for our product idea, Sprinkle. One of our goals for this product is to allow the user to turn on or off the sprinkler system from their phone during various weather conditions such as rain, drought, and sunshine. The owner of the sprinkler system can also turn off the sprinklers whenever he or she chooses.

Our team was able to get the Intel Edison to connect and work.

We divided five tasks between each of the four members. One of the tasks is to use a weather API to collect information about the weather in order to inform the sprinkler system to turn on or off in certain weather conditions. For example, when it rains, the API should be able to notify the system to turn off the sprinklers. This allows for the owner to save water. Another task we established is working on turning the sprinklers on and off manually. Our third task is making sure the back end manual controller (Intel Edison) works and configures with the code we will use for the program. Our fourth task is to make an Android app that will give the owner the power to control the sprinkler system. Our fifth task is to make the website to present our business pitch to the judges.

Our team set up a user interface. We also created the ability to give and receive boolean commands. In addition, we started to consume the Open Weather Map API that we found courtesy of Mashape.com. Our team has gotten most of the timing mechanisms set and adding in the LED Display to let the user know what the sprinklers are going to do.
6:30 pm.
We created a logo. The Android app can connect to a network and send data. The LED Display changes color to display "watering" of sprinklers. We are able to retrieve data from the Open Weather Map API.
9:30 p.m.
Our team was able to get the API to connect to the Intel Edison. We were also able to update the user interface for our mobile Android app.
